Mark Olshansky is a fiber artist specializing in abstract needlepoint. Introduced to needlepoint at a cocktail party, Olshansky quickly made this his life’s work producing tapestries, rugs and pictures.
“I have a passion to create in wool these pictures from my mind, and now that I’ve been doing this for 40 years, I have the skills to express my ideas in the medium of needlepoint. Now that I am 80, I realize that I chased the wrong things. But it’s really never too late: creating those things is now my life, and it’s a joy”
Olshansky’s works have been exhibited in galleries, and juried shows throughout the northeast, including the Carrie Haddad Gallery in Hudson, NY, and the Albany Museum of Art, Albany, NY.
