Morgan Bulkeley is a Mount Washington, MA resident whose concern for nature and the effect humanity has had on it is the basis for many of his works of art. From his meticulous paintings to his magnificent wooden reliefs his message is, “I paint to try to make people think of the fragility in which we exist.”
The artist’s use of cartoon figures gives his work some playfulness, but his message is a somber one. Several animals can be found in his works, especially birds, re-emphasizing his love and concern for nature.
Bulkeley was featured in a 50 year retrospective at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, MA. in 2017. He has been represented for many years by the Howard Yezerski Gallery in Boston, MA.
