John Lippert
John attended the Cooper Union and received a BFA in 1989. After attending Skowhegan, he immediately started a 30+ year career as a fine arts and architectural paintings conservator. He specializes in the restoration of historic decorated rooms and fine art.
John has continued to make paintings throughout his career. Often, the concerns of his artwork reflect the diverse range of artworks in the conservation studio and at jobsites. In his artwork, John tries to reflect concerns of pattern, energy and abstraction that he sees in Tibetan thangkas, Pattern & Decoration, psychedlic art and artists like Jules Olitski and Lary Poons.
John lives and works in Hudson NY
