Bernay Fine Art was pleased to present our 2022 Holiday Show entitled It’s A Wrap which ran through January 16th.

This fabulous show featured the work of Morgan Bulkeley, Sue Muskat, Kristen Palazzo, Scott Prior, Karin Schaefer, Joy Taylor, Ann Wolf and Eric Wolf.

October 29th - December 4th, 2022

Bernay Fine Art was pleased to present our new show entitled Material Word, opening Saturday October 29th.

The show included artists Anthony Chase, Noah Post and Shira Toren, all artists using plaster in their work. In addition to these artists, the show included Greg MacAvoy, Hideyo Okamura and Nancy Simonds.

 

September 23rd - October 23rd, 2022

Beyond Realism was an excellent show featuring the work of Stephanie Anderson. Stephanie uses watercolors and graphite to produce hyperrealistic, elaborate, crisp representations of vegetation, flowers and wildlife.

Other artists in the show include: Carrie Gustafson, Guzman, Phil Knoll, Janet Rickus & Dee Shapiro

 

August 19th - September 18th, 2022

Bernay Fine Art was proud to present Color Play, a two person show featuring the new, dynamic work of Audrey Stone and Dana Piazza.

Stone and Piazza both build color through unique linear processes.

 

July 15th - August 14th, 2022

The gallery’s Summertime show featured the work of Sonya Sklaroff. Sonya’s new work will be on display from her visit to the Berkshires. Also included are works from the artist’s Pandemic, Cityscape and Tuscany series.

Other gallery artists in the show were: Olive Ayhens, Warner Friedman, Huguette Martel, Linda Pochesci, and Janet Rickus.

 

June 17th - July 10th, 2022

The gallery’s Lines and Color’s show features the amazing work of many of our talented abstract artists including:

KarinSchaefer, Dana Piazza, Lynda Schlosberg and Noah Post.

This year we welcome newcomers, Jane Fine and Sabrina Marques to the show.

 

May 14th - June 12th, 2022

“Two to Tango,” was a group show featuring the work of 12 artists who happen to be 6 couples. In fact, these 6 couples have been together for a total of 186 years, give or take a few. Though there’s no way to generalize about duration in marriage, one through-line for these couples is their like-minded drive to make art.

The artists included: Guzman, Jenny Holzer and Mike Glier, Sue Muskat and Phil Knoll, Sara and Hideyo Okamura, Janet Rickus and Warner Friedman, and Katia Santibañez and James Siena.

 

April 2nd - May 8th, 2022

January 22nd - March 6th, 2022

The gallery’s winter exhibition featured the work of many of our talented permanent artists including Diane Ayott, Warner Friedman, Phil Knoll, Tony Luciani, Sue Muskat, Sonya Sklaroff, Shira Toren and Michael Zelehoski. We are also pleased to welcome Michael Filmus and Larry Zingale to the show.

The Winter Group Show ran from January 22nd to March 6th, 2022.

 

December 10th - January 16th, 2022

Walk the Line opened Friday December 10th. Gallery artists Karin Schaefer and Lynda Schlosberg shared “the stage” in this exhibition with two new artists to the gallery, Noah Post and Audrey Stone. The exhibition showed how varied and clearly unique the use of line is for each of these individual artists. Walk the Line ran from December 10th to January 16th, 2022, at 296 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA.

 

The Best of Both Worlds

 October 29th - December 5th, 2021

The Best of Both Worlds, explored the beauty of both urban and rural landscapes. The exhibit opened Friday October 29th.

In this unique show, four women artists depict both settings through their paintings. Sonya Sklaroff’s magnificent cityscapes make us yearn for the streets of NYC while Sandy Litchfield and Olive Ayhens’ create distinctive works which combine both rural and urban scenery. Katharine Dufault brings the essence of the Berkshire countryside to the canvas.

 

Art On Paper

“Art On Paper” opened September 24th and ran through October 24th, 2021. T

Featured artists include Diane Ayott, Mike Glier, Sandy Litchfield, Sue Muskat, Joe Neill, Hideyo Okamura, Dana Piazza, Nancy Simonds, Barbara Takenaga and Joy Taylor.

In this show, the artists presented their paintings, drawings, and collages on one unique medium, paper.

“Be Still” opened August 20th at 296 Main Street in Great Barrington, MA.

“Be Still—Still Life and Beyond” explores the quietness and liveliness captured in fixed moments of life, when the unremitting flow of time is commanded to “be still” within an artist’s frame.

Lines and Colors

July 16th - August 15th, 2021

Bernay Fine Art was pleased to present our third annual Lines and Colors show, which opened July 16th. Lines and Colors was on display until August 15th.

The gallery’s exhibition featured the work of Warren Isensee, Kathleen Jacobs, Hideyo Okamura, Dana Piazza, Karin Schaefer, and Lynda Schlosberg. Each of these abstract artists has their own unique way of presenting lines and colors and the combination of their approaches lends itself to an absolutely amazing exhibit.

Summertime

June 11th – July 11th, 2021

Bernay Fine Art was pleased to present our third annual Summertime show. The Summertime exhibit was on display June 11th - July 11th.

The exhibition featured the work of Warner Friedman, Jessica Hess, Eileen Murphy, Scott Prior, Janet Rickus, Nadine Robbins, Sonya Sklaroff and Joy Taylor. Each artist brings their own unique vision of the summer season to the gallery.

Additional work will be on display by gallery artists Stephanie Anderson, Phil Knoll, Hideyo Okamura and David Ricci.

Mixing It Up

Bernay Fine Art was pleased to present a new show entitled’ “Mixing it Up” at 296 Main Street in Great Barrington, MA. The show ran from May 7th until June 6th, 2021.

The gallery's new exhibition featured mixed media artists Morgan Bulkeley, Connie Goelz Schmitt, Chenta Laury, Dee Shapiro, Amelia Toelke, Shira Toren and Michael Zelehoski. Each artist uses unique materials and has a novel vision to bring refreshing new pieces to the gallery.

The “LIGHT at the End of the Tunnel” show promotes gallery artists that have a special way of using light in their work . From David Vickery’s amazing moon paintings to the vivid colors of Litchfield’s gouaches The artists featured in the show are: Warner Friedman, Ann Getsinger, Mike Glier, Jessica Hess, Sandy Litchfield, Joy Taylor and David Vickery.

This show is a reflection of our times. We are on the downside of the most terrible pandemic that this country has ever seen and there is finally some LIGHT at the end of the tunnel.

Exclusive Online Artsy Show

Bernay Fine Art was pleased to present Sonya Sklaroff ‘s “Escape from New York” series on Artsy. In June 2020, the artist and her family decided to temporarily leave New York City and seek refuge in different small towns in the Northeast United States as the COVID cases soared in the city. Sklaroff chronicled her family’s travels with an intimate portrait of life depicting the backyards, the gardens, the people, the architecture, and the landscape. From the stunning color contrasts in “Red Hibiscus,” to the reflection of light and deep shadows in “Beach Afternoon Blue Umbrella” the artist’s work transports us to a vibrant and memorable summer day.

Additional works by gallery artists Joan Griswold and Janet Rickus were also on display. August 22 - September 21, 2020

Bernay Fine Art was pleased to present an exhibition of works by Michael Zelehoski. Zelehoski, who grew up in the Berkshires, is an internationally renowned mixed media artist. His works are represented in major collections throughout the United States and abroad, most notably at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, which acquired his monumental, Open House piece in 2015.

Working to challenge visual and cognitive processes by deconstructing mundane objects and re-assembling them in pictorial space, Zelehoski uses a unique wooden inlay technique to create his work. “I am trying to reconcile the dichotomy between pictorial and physical space, art and object, sculpture, and painting”.

Bernay Fine Art’s annual show “Lines and Colors” opened on September 3rd, 2020. The “Lines and Colors” exhibition was on display until October 5, 2020.

This exhibition promoted contemporary artists from the United States and Europe in mediums of painting and drawing. Works by five abstract artists were featured in the show: Hideyo Okamura, Dana Piazza, Karin Schaefer, Lynda Schlosberg and Barbara Takenaga. Additional works by gallery artists Joe Neill, Charles Thomas O’Neil and Simona Prives were on display.

Bernay Fine Art was pleased to have its second annual “Summertime” show. The exhibit ran from July 30 to August 31, 2020.

The exhibit featured the works of 6 artists. Brilliant water scenes from Linda Pochesci and Warner Friedman fill the gallery with beauty. Scott Prior showcases his use of light in his summer towel and bottle paintings. Mike Glier and Linda Stillman have unique pieces in the show. Glier with his fabulous “Field Notes” and Stillman with her leaf impressions and nature mosaics. Finally, Ellen Kaiden paints magnificent detailed watercolors.
