Jenny Kemp
Kemp begins from a single gestural mark that sets a direction across the surface, where biomorphic and geometric forms coexist in what she describes as stillness in motion
Jenny received a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Painting in 2015. Her work is held in both private and public collections, including the Tang Teaching Museum in Saratoga Springs, the University at Albany, and Union College in Schenectady, New York. She has been awarded several residencies, including those at Skidmore College and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Her work has been featured in 100 Painters of Tomorrow (Thames & Hudson), New American Paintings, The Huffington Post, and Two Coats of Paint. She received a BS in Art from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and an MFA from the University at Albany.
Kemp teaches at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and lives in the Hudson Valley.
