KK Kozik

“There are painters of their surroundings whose ethos commits them to en plain air painting and recording what is in front of them. Me? i’m way on the other side, a hunter-gatherer who collects and assembles, runs images and experiences through my mental centrifuge and recombines what is left over.

As I move through my full days of hours in the studio, hours out-of-doors and hours lost in my imagination, I accrue bits of images that attract me and bits of experiences that are meaningful. I back-burner them until like minor miracles they emerge, demanding to be painted”. KK Kozik
